Localizada a 150 km de Fortaleza é uma das praias mais famosas do Ceará, nasceu sobre uma falésia que se estande por vários quilômetros, sendo originada de uma colônia de pescadores. Cercada por muitas dunas e estradas de areia é possível fazer belos passeios de bug ou a pé. Nos primeiros anos de ponto turístico, suas ruas de areia de praia tornavam o local ainda mais descontraído. Naquele tempo já havia pequenas choupanas onde se comia muito bem e já se podia ouvir e dançar forró até altas horas da noite.
Hoje com calçamento em pedras brancas e com vários bares e restaurantes atrai visitantes de todo o mundo. A vida noturna animada é outro atrativo do local com vários bares onde ainda hoje se pode arriscar um forró ou curtir um rock.
Abaixo da falésia, a beira do mar, várias barracas com excelente comida e cerveja gelada convidam ao descanso e a um bate papo relaxado. O vento constante vindo do mar mantém o clima agradável até para quem deseja ficar se bronzeando no sol. Se você é adepto do esporte dos pássaros, dos meses de outubro a fevereiro pode arriscar um vôo na falésia, tomando cuidado com a intensidade do vento e os obstáculos no local. Located 150 km from Fortaleza, it is one of the most famous beaches of Ceará, it was born on a beach cliff that runs for several kilometers, and has its origin from a colony of fishermen. Surrounded by many dunes and highways of sand it is possible to do beautiful bug rides or by foot. In its first years as a tourist point, its streets of beach sand turned the place even more casual. On that time there were already small cottages where you could have very good meals and could already hear and dance “forró” until late at night.

Today with pavement in white stones and with several bars and restaurants it attracts visitors from all over the world. The agitated night life is another attraction of the place with several bars where you can risk a “forró” or enjoy some rock and roll.

Below the beach cliff, on the sea coast, several beach restaurants with excellent food and cold beer invite you to rest and to have a nice relaxed chat. The constant wind coming from the sea maintains a pleasant climate even for who wants to be tanning in the sun. If you are a follower of the sport of the birds, fromOctober to February it’s possible to risk a flight on the cliff, being careful with the intensity of the wind and the obstacles of the place.
